Peanut the Cat -

Meet Peanut!  He's a young cat who is still learning about the world around him.  His kind heart and adventurous nature land him in situations that we can learn from.  Peanut lives in a forest in California, but was born in a city.  He was adoped by a family that was traveling in their van and when they stopped in the forest, Peanut saw a squirrel and dashed out the door of the van.   At first he was scared and he looked up and down for his family.  A mother racoon, "Mama", found Peanut hiding in the trees, then she took in the abandoned orphan.  She kept him safe and introduced him to the other forest animals. So, now he lives in an abandoned shack next door to the the raccoon family and Mr. Badger. Peanut loves to entertain or attend holiday parties that you'll read about. His best friend is Chonkers the sea lion.  In the chapter book, When Fonzie Went to School, you'll get to see Peanut as a full grown adult cat.  What will he be doing?  Where will he be living?  Will he still be adventurous?  What are the things he learned?

Chonkers (the sea lion) -

Meet Chonkers! He is a very large, stellar sea lion who lives in the North Pacific Ocean. He weighs about 2,000 pounds!  You may remember when Chonkers made the news in the winter/spring of 2026.  His usual visits to PIER 39 were only a couple of days, but this year he stayed for 6 weeks! This four book series, Peanut the Cat and Chonkers at Sea, explains his visits and the reason he stayed so long this time.  His best friend is Peanut the Cat; they met on a cruise ship just for animals and special, enchanted humans. Peanut thinks Chonkers's is another cat because of his snout and whiskers.

Near K-Dock, at PIER 39 there is a magical portal where animals can travel.  They can board ships to lands abroad and return without anyone seeing them.  You see so many sea lions resting on the dock because they're tired from their long jouneys.  You may not be able to see the cats and the rabbits and elephants and other animals that travel through the invisible portal, but the sea lions have a magic to them that allow people to see them as they wait for the next ship.  Join Chonkers in this four book series to places unknown..step through the portal with us, we're waiting!
